WIth the close of the 2010 season come winter projects. Don is currently working on engine. He is o-rining the block and head, and changing other small parts for reliability. Don is also working on aerodynamics, Joe is developing  a custom rear spoiler and splitter. Updating to a larger wheel size, to help with a wider stance. Due to larger wheel size, the rear braking system will upgraded. Small tweaking  to the suspension are in the works. ZG wide fender flares will also be added to the 26 car.
Joe also plans to increase grip by adding larger rims and tires. He is also designing coilovers, and modifying the rear gear ratio.

Don and Joe recently had the opportunity to pit crew for Sector Purple racing team, at 25 Hours of Thunderhill. We had a small crew of only 7 people. We placed 6th in E3 class out of 21, and 17th out of 74 teams. Special thanks to Sector Purple racing team: Kyle Watkins, Kevin Wenzel, Dave Balingit, Steve Ott. http://www.nasa25hour.com/

Due to financial constraints and engine issues Don was unable to complete a full season. In May 2010 at Highplains raceway, was when the engine in Don’s 240sx showed signs of a blown headgasket. THis was caused by the head lifting off the block. Because the headgasket has been an ongoing issue Don decided to go back to the drawing board with the engine configuration.

With the premature end of Don’s racing season, he transitioned assisting S.C.C.A. James Kinne, in 2000 Corvette. Don gave driving instruction and mechanical advise for current and future modifications. Don changed the alignment geometry, to help the Corvette handle better during autocross events.

Well the 2010 racing season has officially begun and the No Name Motorsports Nissan 240sx driven by Don Williams has officially become a race car. Don completed his competition license school with the NASA Rocky Mountain region without a hitch last weekend after four years of HPDE's and ran his first real races in the NASA Super Touring 1 class on Sunday at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colorado. The car ran excellent but still needs a little suspension tuning to run down the MAC Autosport 240sx driven by Adam McMahan. Specs on the No Name Motorsports 240sx can be found here. I'm Joe Dillard and I was Don's crew chief for the weekend and normally his over the phone "Technical Consultant" since I moved Northern California a year and a half ago. It was awesome to be there for Don's big weekend and to help him through it and was also great to be back in Colorado for a NASA Rocky Mountain race weekend. The guys are great out here and we always have an excellent weekend.
